Why Study International GCSE Geography?

You will examine a range of natural and man-made environments, and study some of the processes which affected their development. You will also look at the ways in which people interact with their environment, and the opportunities and challenges and environment can present, thereby gaining a deeper insight into the different communities and cultures that exist around the world. (Cambridge Assessment International Education, n.d.)

Key concepts covered in the course

  • The natural environment
  • Economic development

Prior requirements and hours of study

International GCSE Geography requires about 130 hours of study. The number of hours needed may vary depending on your previous experience of the subject.

We recommend that students who are beginning this course should have previously completed a Geography curriculum such as the International Lower Secondary programme or equivalent national educational framework.
